Cliff Section 1:
East of the Haddock’s Fault (approx 150m East of Seagull Cottage)
East of the Haddock’s Fault the lower cliff consists of thick, massive, resistant sandstones of the Ashdown Beds overlain by the Wadhurst Clay higher in the cliff. The sandstones are resistant to erosion and failure of the cliffs in this section occurs in the overlying Wadhurst clays.
